Meeting with the Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SUCCC)



KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor cautioned that he will not hesitate to take action against little Napoleons in the state civil service who can jeorpardise the implementation of the Halatuju Sabah Maju Jaya.

“I have informed the State Secretary (Datuk Seri Sr Safar Untong) to make this known to all civil service personnel. We don’t want to see the little Napoleons hampering our efforts to bring in development and investments to Sabah,” he said.

Meeting with the Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SUCCC) delegation led by its President Tan Sri Andrew Liew at the State Administrative Centre (PPNS) near here Wednesday, Hajiji said he wants to see this development plan implemented smoothly and as soon as possible.

“We have formulated policies to facilitate investments to Sabah and we want to make it conducive for investors to invest in Sabah,” he said.

On another note, Hajiji said he was glad to meet with the Chinese Chambers of Commerce leaders from all the districts in Sabah.

“I am here and I am willing to listen to your views or suggestions,” he said to the delegation.

Amongst issues raised were the slow progress of the Pan Borneo project to which Hajiji said he has the assurance of the Prime Minister during the latter’s recent visit to Sabah that the implementation of the project will be expedited using the Private Funding Initiative (PFI).

Earlier, SUCCC President Tan Sri Andrew Liew pledged their support to the State Government under Hajiji’s leadership.
